City officials in north Texas are investigating an incident in which a fire unit crashed into a Dairy Queen restaurant.

The truck crashed into the restaurant's outdoor patio and ended up on the opposite side of the restaurant, taking out part of the building's front wall along the way.

It is not yet known why the accident occurred.

NBC5 reported that the truck was just serviced and was being driven back to the local fire station when the accident happened.

A firefighter was not driving the truck at the time. It was not on the way to an emergency.

Officials said a restaurant employer and the driver of the truck were hospitalized for non-life-threatening injuries.

Video footage of the damage can be seen below.
