A man was charged with mischief after a baby was hit with spray from a beer can he threw, Toronto police say.
Albert Grummitt, 33, was arrested Wednesday night. He has since been released, according to the Toronto Star.
The baby was with her mother in the front row as the Blue Jays played the Texas Rangers. Television cameras captured the teary woman holding her baby after fans started throwing objects onto the field after a controversial call in the seventh inning.
Many of the cans landed short of the field. About 30 fans were ejected.
"I don't think it's ever happened to this degree that I can recall here in Toronto, and I think Toronto fans are generally very calm and well-behaved," Mario Coutinho, Blue Jays vice president, said to the Toronto Star.
The team is analyzing its beer can sales as part of an overall review of safety protocols at the stadium, according to the Toronto Star.
