Brian Urlacher is famous for his signature bald head, but it is now covered in hair.
The former linebacker for the Chicago Bears made an appearance on WGN Morning News Tuesday to debut his new look.
He credits the hair growth system, Restore by Katona, for his full head of hair.
Urlacher is a spokesman for the product and appears in an infomercial for the hair replacement system.
The procedure was eight hours and did not involve any incisions. Hair was taken from the back of his head, where his hair is stronger, and added to bald patches in the front.
Urlacher had a simple solution for keeping his changing appearance a secret. “I wore a hat everywhere I went for a year.”
He was told about the procedure by a friend, but had a backup plan if he did not like like his new look.
“I have a good shaped bald head. I’ve been bald my whole life. The good thing about it was if I got the procedure done and I didn’t like it, guess what? I could still shave it off. But I did like it,” he said.
“My showers take longer,” Urlacher said. “I gotta leave a couple extra minutes to comb it in the morning. (I) put gel in it sometimes now. It's great.”
