A group of first responders are asking their community for help following a tragedy.
According to the Livermore Police Department, police found a nonresponsive woman in a motel after responding to a call on Christmas Day.
The woman had a medical condition and passed away that day.
Inside the same motel room, police found the woman’s 6-year-old daughter.
The officers learned the girl wasn’t able to celebrate Christmas, so they made it up to her in an unforgettable way.
The officers bought gifts for the little girl so she could experience the magic of Christmas after the heartbreaking tragedy.
Livermore police officers delivered the gifts to the girl at her new foster home Dec. 26.
The officers learned the mother had recently relocated to California. After her mother passed away, the little girl was placed in foster care until her family in Florida could pick her up in California.
First responders across Livermore are asking their community to donate to a GoFundMe page to raise money for funeral expenses and transportation to get the girl and her mother's body back to Florida.
