They hit a hard object they at first thought was only a box, but it turned out it was actually a 4-foot-long coffin, KGBT reported.

They also found bags filled with booties, pink bears and bones.

The homeowner was thinking the worst until she talked to a neighbor who told her the story behind the burial.

As it turned out, the coffin contained dog bones and photos of a family pet, KGBT reported.

Diggers also uncovered a toolbox that contained cat bones.

The coffin was buried on the property for about 30 years, neighbors said.
