Company spokesman Chris Arnold said the meeting, which would discuss food safety, would involve all staff, according to Oregon Live.

"We want to thank our teams for all of their hard work, to discuss some of the changes we are making to enhance food safety, to talk about the restaurant's role in all of that and to answer questions from employees," he said.

CNN reported that Chipotle CEO Steve Ells met with the Center for Disease Control last week to discuss the food-borne illness that led 43 stores to close last year.

"I'm hopeful that the CDC will call this over soon," Ells said. "We know that Chipotle is as safe as it's ever been before. We are all very confident that this E. coli outbreak would not happen again."

The restaurant provided an update to its food safety investigation in Dec. 21.

The CDC reported that 53 people have been infected.
