Police reports indicate that a car crossed the center line and smashed into another vehicle with two occupants.

As many as 10 bystanders helped at the scene, but Voglezon -- who happened to be wearing a Captain America T-shirt -- grabbed a fire extinguisher and smashed out a window. He then pulled William Thompson out of the wreckage, likely saving his life.

Voglezon said his military training aided him in the rescue:

“If I had not been a soldier, I would not have known what to do. The Army has helped a lot.”
