A Missouri woman is in the hospital, accused of stealing an SUV and leading Kansas City police on a high speed chase that ended when she crashed the vehicle into a building.
Part of the brick building collapsed after the crash, burying the SUV in rubble.
The Kansas City Star reports the building was mostly vacant, but the owner was using it to store several vintage cars and trucks.
Surveillance video from a parking lot across the street captured the crash and subsequent building collapse.
In it, a speeding SUV is seen swerving to get around a box truck. The driver loses control of the vehicle and slams right into the building.
It took crews several hours to remove the SUV, which is now evidence in the case. Engineers are now working to salvage the rest of the building.
