The flash of a camera is all it took to save 4-month-old Ryder's life, according to doctors.

Ryder's mom, Andrea Temarantz, says she began noticing something strange in Ryder's photos in December. The Scottsdale, Arizona, mom said she thought the strange white glow in his left eye had something to do with the camera she was using.

"I just chalked it up to a bad camera phone," Termarant told ABC News. "But even after I used a new Nikon D3300 DSLR my cousin got me for Christmas, the white glow was still there, so I took Ryder to his doctor."

She said at his next checkup, Andrea mentioned the strange phenomena to his doctor. The next day, his family was told he had retinoblastoma, according to the family's website.

Thankfully, the cancer hadn't spread to his brain or his other eye.

Because doctors were able to detect the mass early, they gave Ryder a 99 percent chance of recovery, and he will likely keep his vision in his left eye, according to Fox News.

The family started a Fundrazr account to raise money for Ryder's medical expenses.
