Video of a plane nearly taking out a beachgoer is going viral. Here it is from the BBC.
Wow. You obviously heard German there — seems the 52-year-old pilot was flying along the coast of Germany when he nearly landed on a sunbather on a northern island.
The Daily Mail quotes him: "It wasn't one of my greatest achievements in the cockpit." The pilot says he expects to face a fine but hopes he won't lose his license.
And The Daily Star reports the vacationer who took the footage told the outlet they'd seen other planes land that day and could tell instantly this plane was coming in too low.
Well, luckily the sunbather seemed OK, as did the pilot and plane. The Sydney Morning Herald reports the pilot flew home the same evening.
No one has yet been able to locate or speak to the sunbather — according to multiple outlets, he stood up and simply walked off after the near-miss. Hopefully, he at least got a good tan.
