Zombies will return to Woodstock this fall; the City Council has approved a temporary alcohol permit allowing beer and wine at the 2018 Georgia Zombie Fest and Halloween Extravaganza.

The family oriented event takes place from 3 to 9 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 20, at the Northside Cherokee Amphitheater and City Park.

Eight food trucks, 14 food tents, about 34 vendors and inflatables for children also will be on hand. Alcohol consumption will be wristband-controlled for adults 21 and over, and signs will indicate areas where alcohol is permitted, according to the event organizers’ application with the city.

Admission is $5 per person at the gate, $20 for families with up to six people and children five years and under, free.

Zombie Fest is a fund-raiser for Cherokee FOCUS, a nonprofit organization that supports Cherokee Youth Works (life skills training), Drug Free Cherokee (of the Cherokee Youth Council), Hotel to Home (addressing family homelessness), and Volunteer Cherokee (a nonprofit database).
