Atlantans will give thanks for warm weather this holiday week, forecasters say.

Unseasonably warm temperatures will kick off the week, said Channel 2 Action News meteorologist Brad Nitz during his Sunday broadcast.

The high temperature is expected to reach about 75 Monday and Tuesday. A high of 75 would be a new record high for Wednesday, said Nitz. Those temperatures are about 15 degrees warmer than average for this time of year.

A cold front will move into town midweek, said Nitz, and should bring rain.

Tuesday night, the chance for rain is 30 percent, increasing to 60 percent Wednesday morning.

High temperatures will dip to the mid-60s Wednesday, but skies will clear before Thanksgiving, said Nitz.

Turkey day will be sunny but cooler, with a high of 62. Thanksgiving morning will be a cranberry sauce-chilling 41.
