The Georgia DOT will close the Walther Boulevard access to State Route 316 in Lawrenceville beginning Friday. The existing right-turn onto State Route 316 and right-turn off of State Route 316 at Walther Boulevard will close so the new bridge taking Walther Boulevard over State Route 316 can be built.
“The volume and speeds on 316 are way too high to allow direct access from a side street. The new Walther Boulevard Bridge will provide safe and easy connectivity over State Route 316,” explained Brent Cook, Georgia DOT District Engineer serving Gwinnett County.
The $4.4 million construction project includes the new Walther Boulevard bridge over State Route 316. It will have three lanes, a continuous center turning lane with bike lanes and sidewalks. And is expected to be complete by April 2016.
