Sugar Hill’s sign vendor recently completed installing metal panels that make up the flag display connecting memorial panels at the city’s new Veterans Memorial Plaza. The painted aluminum panels will be illuminated by LED lights at the base.

One of the last items to be installed will be an eagle sculpture at the west end of the project. The city hopes to unveil the eagle sculpture and provide a grand opening in conjunction with Memorial Day activities.

Sugar Hill’s new veterans memorial includes monuments representing the six branches of military service, a water feature and an eternal flame within a “walkable hardscape plaza space” at the intersection of W. Broad Street and Church Street.
