Two UGA professors received two awards totalling $2 million to continue plant research that could help speed the development of biofuel.

Chung-Jui Tsai's research focuses on plant proteins called tubulin and how that affects the development of a group of woody plants.

Andrew Paterson researches grasses that show potential as high-biomass energy crops.

The grants are from the U.S. Departments of Agriculture and Energy.
