Two ticket booths at Jim R. Miller Park in Marietta will be replaced. The Cobb County Board of Commissioners decided Nov. 14 to hire the low bidder W. E. Contracting Co. Inc. for $175,704 to construct the booths at 2245 Callaway Road.
Separated by a breezeway, each structure will have two identical split-faced concrete block booths under a single roof. Each air-conditioned booth will have two transaction windows so that each new structure can serve up to four ticket lines to reduce wait times. No new maintenance or operational costs will be associated with these projects.
Funding will come from the 2016 P.A.R.K.S. local penny sales tax, also known as the Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax.
