Rosenbaum, a 27-year-old Emory University law student and self-proclaimed candidate for the Henry County commission, was arrested Friday in connection with the death of an allegedly choking child, 2-year-old Laila Marie Daniel. In a frantic 911 call, Rosenbaum tells the dispatcher, ""I'm hoping I didn't break her rib, I've been pushing hard. I don't really know how to do this." [Read more]
3. A North Carolina teenager, who police said was killed when he was pulled feet-first into a wood chipper, has been identified as 19-year-old Mason Cox. Jon Crawford, the owner of the business, suffered a heart attack at the scene and had to be rushed to the hospital, police said. [Read more]

The father of a 6-year-old girl whose skull was shattered by a foul ball at Turner Field has raised the stakes in his lawsuit against the Braves: he has added Major League Baseball as a defendant even as the league is considering new safety netting that might have shielded his daughter.
