Q: I read recently that, effective July 1, new rules went into effect in order to renew or get a driver's license. I was wondering whether these also apply to obtaining or renewing a Georgia-issued ID card. — Nora Summers, Ball Ground

A: The new rules also pertain to Georgia-issued ID cards. "If you currently hold a valid Georgia DL (driver's license) or ID, you will be issued a 'Secure ID' DL/ID at the time of your next renewal or reinstatement," according to the Georgia Department of Driver Services' website. A checklist of required documents to obtain or renew a driver's license or ID card is found at www.dds.ga.gov/SecureID/default.aspx.

Q: Was that Winnie from "The Wonder Years" and her friend who were picked up by Sheldon and Raj on a recent rerun of "The Big Bang Theory?" — Don Varn, Conyers

A: Danica McKellar, who played Winnie in "The Wonder Years" from 1988 to 1993, made a guest appearance as Abby in an episode of "The Big Bang Theory" called "The Psychic Vortex" that originally aired Jan. 11, 2010, according to the Internet Movie Database. In real life, McKellar graduated summa cum laude from UCLA with a degree in mathematics, has been honored by the Journal of Physics and is the co-author of a physics theorem called the Chayes-McKellar-Winn Theorem. She's written four books about math for young adults.
