Q: Regarding the new Southwest Airlines commercial with all the luggage: Was this set up at the airport, how many pieces of luggage were used to do this, how much did it cost and who paid for it?
-- Peggy Allen, Douglasville
A: The commercial, which is affectionately referred at as "Suitcase Dominoes" by Southwest Airlines, was shot in several locations, but not at Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport, Southwest spokesman Brad Hawkins told Q&A on the News in an email. Atlanta wasn't used because "we didn't have metal on the ground at the time we shot the commercial," he said. Hawkins said 99 pieces of luggage were used to shoot the commercials -- 33 in each of Southwest's colors of red, yellow and blue -- and the wheels were glued so the suitcases wouldn't roll away during shooting. The cost of the commercial is confidential, but he said Southwest paid for it.
Q: If you’re in physical contact with a person who gets zapped with a stun gun, do you also get zapped?
-- B.G. Harris, Decatur
A: People will not be affected if they're in contact with someone receiving a shock from a stun gun, manufacturer O-Mega Network Inc. states on its website. The same holds true for Taser devices. Volunteers are always held up by others "whenever they're hit by Taser devices during training courses, just to prove you're not going to get a shock just by touching someone who is receiving a Taser application," Steve Tuttle, the vice president for communications with Taser International, told Q&A on the News.
