Ron Brooks is concerned about a noisy new device meant to help pedestrians.
“Recently a pedestrian signaling device was installed at 10th St. NW and Atlantic Drive NW. It beeps and talks and is annoyingly loud. It is not the pedestrians who violate the crosswalk, it is the scooters and bikers, and also autos running the red light constantly, speeding down 10th St. Can the volume on this device at least be adjusted?” he questioned.
We forwarded the issue to the city and will let you know when its quieter.

A commuter has an issue with signage.
“I work at the airport and I have traveled from International Parkway to Fayette County every work day for the last eight years. I take Loop Road to 285 to 85 South. I emailed you about the need for better signage a few years ago and I think you installed some,” the reader wrote.
But the reader said the problem is that people on 285 westbound, exiting at 85 South, have no idea which lane to be in as they approach 85 South.
“Install painted placards on the road just like the ones installed on 85/75 North split after leaving downtown. This would help 285/85 traffic and prevent accidents. Lots of accidents at the 285/85 South split. The signs are ineffective and something has to be done.”
We sent the item to the DOT and will keep you updated.
