New item — DeKalb County
We get many submissions for this column, but by far, the most frequent complaint is about potholes on the regions highways and byways. This week, we got yet another request to help out a frustrated driver.
Eric Brooks is tired of a pothole that can do damage on a busy DeKalb County street.
“This ‘suspension smasher’ is at the junction of Valley Brook Road and Hollywood Drive in Scottdale.
We sent the item to DeKalb County and will let you know when it’s fixed.

Scott Dixon is concerned over a water leak in Midtown that has continued for some time. With the city’s aging infrastructure, leaks are becoming more prevalent complaints.
“There has been a significant water leak coming from a meter in the sidewalk right outside of the Biltmore Midtown apartments on 6th Street right off of West Peachtree Street. This started before the weekend, but there has been no attempt by anyone, including the city to stop the leak,” he wrote.
We sent the item to the city and will let you know when the leak stops.

Last week, we told you about Bill Worth’s issue with standing water in the heart of the city. After going back between the city and the DOT, we finally found out who was in charge of the issue and also a resolution to the problem.
“There is standing water on the overpass bridge at the corner of Piedmont and Baker across from Georgia Power offices. The standing water is a breeding place for the Zika virus,” he wrote.
We learned from the Georgia Department of Transportation the issue had been resolved and the standing water removed.

Who got it fixed: DOT communications officer Annalysce Baker, abaker@dot.ga.gov
