New item-DeKalb County
One of the biggest complaints we receive is jobs not getting finished in a timely basis. Throughout the metro area, residents constanly compain about unfinished projects and why it takes so long to get an item completed.
A reader wrote us and said a number of humps had been replaced on Emory Road, but the workers neglected to put white arrows on them.
“Those are virtually invisible specially at night. Can you help?” the reader asked.
We sent the item to DeKalb County and received a quick response.
“These humps were replaced by a contractor. DeKalb transportation inspectors are working with the contractor to resolve. The striping should be completed by Friday,” said county spokesman Burke Brennan.

Patricia Pascoli is concerned over a fire hydrant that has been missing in action for the entire summer.
“This picture show a fire hydrant located in Fulton County on Butner Road near 3365 Butner Road. It has been down since at least May of this year. When I called in June, the fire department said they were aware of it and it would be repaired. It is now several months later and it still is not repaired,” she wrote.
We sent the information to the county and will let you know the outcome.

New item-Atlanta
Midtown and Virginia Highlands are two of the hottest areas for new residents to the area, but the aging infrastructure causes grief for some residents and commuters. We frequently hear from new residents who are shocked that so many metal plates and potholes litter the city.
“At the intersection of Park Drive and Virginia Avenue there is broken asphalt in the center of this intersection. About 40 feet north on Park Drive are two metal plates all the way across entire road. My biggest hope is that the metal plate on Monroe Drive in front of the Wells Fargo Bank across from Ansley Mall be repaired. This is truly a golden oldie,” wrote Hiram Mitchell.
We sent the items to the city and will let you know when the problems are fixed.
