Rob Roark is concerned about a fire hydrant near an industrial park.

“Please see the attached picture of a fire hydrant that is dangerously close to being demolished by illegally parked truckers in the Atlanta International Industrial Park. This hydrant is located just south of the Pilot Travel Center on Continental Way in DeKalb County, just off I-285 and Bouldercrest Road,” Roark wrote.

Update-Atlanta

In early May, we told you about Patsy Beall’s problem with a busy intersection.

“There are near miss accidents all the time at Peachtree and Lenox roads. The two lanes that come from Ga. 400 are supposed to go straight on Lenox Road. There is a ‘no left turn’ sign, but it is beside the right lane where no one sees it. It needs to be moved to the left of the left lane because that lane frequently turns left in front of two northbound turn lanes that come up the ramp from the Buckhead Loop,”she said.

Atlanta officials got back to us quickly.

“Please be advised that GDOT traffic engineers are responsible for addressing the concern voiced by the reader. But I will provide you with feedback that has been shared with the city’s Department of Public Works.

“The city has been informed by GDOT that the agency has taken a first step in alleviating driver confusion by moving the “straight arrow only” sign over to the right, making it clear that drivers cannot turn left from the middle lane,” the official wrote.

The city also received feedback that GDOT is currently evaluating steps to make the actual signage that indicates “no left turn” bigger and moved to a spot that is more visible by drivers.

New item-Clifton Road

Patrick Morris hopes there is a simple fix to an issue on Clifton Road.

“There is a deep ‘ravine’ on Clifton Road across from the entrance to the Druid Hills Golf Club turf care building. The ravine runs across half of the street from the manhole cover to the sidewalk. Drivers that are familiar with this either come to a complete stop, or cross to oncoming traffic lane to avoid it,” he wrote.
