Update-DeKalb County
In mid-May, we told you about a reader’s concern over a pothole that just won’t stay fixed.
“On Chrysler Drive heading south just across Briarcliff Road, (the) old nonfunctional stoplight strip needs to be removed before fixing the hole again. The strip can give just enough allowing asphalt to sink and crack requiring another repair. (It) has sharp edges and about four to five inches deep. Thanks for your help,” wrote the distressed reader.
“The phase 8 loop or shielded wire is damaged at this location. We will have this repaired by the middle of next week,” wrote DeKalb’s Burke Brennan.

Fixed! DeKalb County
In May we told you about one reader’s nightmare traffic light that caused a huge traffic back-up.
“Traveling east on North Druid Hills Road and needing to turn left onto northbound Clairmont Road is a five second nightmare. That’s how long the left turn signal stays lit allowing, at most, five cars thorough the intersection. This needs to be increased a few more seconds as the first driver frequently doesn’t move when the light changes backing up the left turn lane,” Richelle Weinstock wrote. We heard from the county about the issue.
“Traffic engineering added three seconds to the left turn phase from North Druid Hills to northbound Clairmont Road. This should help give more time to clear, but it should be pointed out that the storage bay holds only 67 vehicles,” wrote DeKalb County’s Burke Brennan.

Fixed!-DeKalb County
We always like to show you when some of your items are fixed. DeKalb County’s Burke Brennan recently sent us a photo of a pothole that was created by a water leak in Chamblee. The leak was fixed, but the hole was created when a county truck came back to plant grass over the work area and do a final clean-up. The truck fell through the asphalt and created a large hole that was surrounded by orange cones and tape until the county fixed it.
