New item-DeKalb County
Michael Terk hopes construction will soon be completed on one of the county’s busy roads.
“Several months ago, DeKalb County began repairs on the curbs on The By Way. The work was never completed. The county’s work has resulted in damage to the roadbed where weeds are beginning to grow,” Terk said.
He said the damage has caused narrowing of an already dangerously narrow road.
“I have called the county but no one seemed to know about the project. I emailed the county with photos but failed to receive a reply,” he added.

Frank Craft wants to see a busy city street re-striped.
“Please re-stripe Peachtree from 10th Street in Midtown to the DeKalb County line. In dry weather, the stripes are barely noticeable. In wet weather, it is a safety hazard as the lines are not visible. I’ve witnessed too many potential accidents as people cannot see the stripes,” he wrote.

Christine Stanton hopes a popular area of town can see some safety improvements.
“I am hoping that some action can be taken on this issue. Once again there is a terrible accident on Moreland Ave between Mclendon Avenue and DeKalb Avenue,” she wrote.
Stanton said the striping on the road is non-existent, and motorists cannot tell where the lanes are anymore.
“Also the cross walk striping at the intersections of Moreland Avenue, Euclid Avenue and McClendon Avenue are gone. This is a high traffic and pedestrian area. It’s time for someone to take action and get this taken care of it has gone on for to long,” she added.
We sent her issue to the city and will let you know when it’s resolved.
