Families came in droves last Friday packing the Chick-Fil-A on Moore Road in Suwanee to show an overwhelming amount of love to a family in need.

Still coping with the passing of their mother three years ago, Seth, 19, Cory, 16, Tucker, 11 and Eli Manis, 9 faced another tragedy three weeks ago. On a trip back from North Carolina, an accident killed their father and severely injured the three younger brothers. The oldest, Seth, was not with them at the time.

Born and raised in Suwanee, but now living in Tennessee, the boys’ were shown love and support as the community came out to the fast-food restaurant taking part in the Manis Family Memorial Fund Spirit Day.

“This community has always supported this restaurant and in turn, we are just paying it forward,” said Chick-Fil-A Operator Brad Williams, who dedicated 10 percent of every purchase on that day would go toward The Manis Family Memorial Fund.

“This unfortunate news really brought out what is important: family, love and being there for each other,” said Humphrey, who was the family’s neighbor and long-time friend. “As the saying goes,’ it takes a village’ and we are just doing our part to help some of our own.”

One hundred percent of the money raised will go toward immediate and long-term care of the three younger brothers along with building a trust that will allow the brothers to attend college and have a safe future. With donations and the sales of Spirit Day, an estimated $5,000 was raised for the brothers.
