Gwinnett County police are trying to identify three suspects who worked together to steal a 75-year-old woman’s wallet at Publix.

The theft was captured on surveillance video. One of the suspects had a conversation with the victim while the two other suspects circled behind the victim.

The male suspect removed the victim’s wallet from her purse and put it in a shopping cart that was being pushed by the third suspect. The woman’s wallet held items including $57 in cash, a real estate license and a Medicaid card, a police report says.

The theft took place at the Publix location at 4850 Sugarloaf Parkway in Lawrenceville.

The suspect who distracted the woman appeared to be between 20 and 25 years old, between 5-foot-2 and 5-foot-5-inches tall and approximately 125 lbs. The man who too the wallet was described as between 50 and 55 years old, 180 to 225 lbs. and about 5 feet 10 inches tall. The woman who was pushing the cart in which the wallet was placed is described as a “young” adult between 5-foot-2 and 5-foot-5-inches tall and weighing about 140 lbs.

Anyone with information on this case is asked to contact Gwinnett County detectives at 770-513-5300 or Crime Stoppers at 404-577-8477. Crime Stoppers tips may be rewarded with up to $2,000 if they lead to an arrest or indictment.
