Parents of Fayette County students who qualify for free or reduced-price meals during the school year can also get nutrition assistance during the summer school break.

The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Summer Food Services Program is administered through local churches and other organizations. Parents can call the Fayette County Division of Family and Children Services at 770-830-2178 to find out if their children qualify, and can go to www.fns.usda.gov/summer-food-rocks to find distribution locations near them.

The program begins the day after school ends and continues until Aug. 8.
