The Sugar Hill City Council approved a sign variance Monday to allow the newly opened Gwinnett Church to erect a 486 square foot entrance sign. The 20 foot, double-faced tree-like logo sign would be 62 percent larger than the largest sign currently allowed by zoning. The church at 300 Peachtree Industrial Boulevard occupies 87,000 square feet, with future plans for expansion to approximately 277,000 square feet.

The variance was approved with the understanding the property will be expanded in the near future and will be the only ground sign allowed on the property.
