We're just that wired in.
A study by Men's Health ranks Atlanta as the No. 2 most socially networked city in the United States, behind only Washington, D.C. Denver, Minneapolis and Seattle round out the top five.
The study looked at the number of Facebook and LinkedIn users per capita, followed by Twitter users. Online traffic generated from sites such as Myspace, Friendster, Reddit, Digg and chat rooms also were included in the research.
The study doesn't identify the reasons some cities are more wired in than others. But Atlanta surely gets a boost from the number of colleges and universities in the area, a bustling hip-hop community and a recent "it" city status among filmmakers.
