This Trump beat is no party.

Ok, that’s completely untrue. Except for a ceremonial hour on Jan. 20, it’s been nothing but parties.

But with the presidency comes “reports” “rumors” and “rumblings” which are as mercurial as The Man Himself.

Palm Beach sources are confirming that President Donald Trump will indeed be at the Red Cross Ball this weekend, dismissing reports that he had decided to skip the event — as he did for an appearance earlier this week in Milwaukee — because of planned protests.

And the confirmation came in decidedly Palm Beach style, with a haughty "Palm Beach is hardly Milwaukee."

So here's what we know (or what we think we know) so far:

POTUS will be at the ball.

FLOTUS Melania Trump will be at the ball.

They will have their own table , large enough to accommodate their posse. (Or in this case, retinue, which is what a posse becomes when it grows up and gets rich.)

The first couple will be joined by 700 others, some of whom paid as much as $50,000 for premium placement.

Six ambassadors will be at the ball, representing Switzerland, Italy, Colombia, Afghanistan, Peru, and Jordan.

Mexico is not sending an ambassador. Neither is Australia.

Other VIPS include Charles and Camilla — no, not the ones you think, but rather Prince Charles and Princess Camilla of Bourbon Two Sicilies —the Duke (Charles) and Duchess (Edla) of Marlborough, Lady Henrietta Spencer-Churchill, Princess Clotilde d’Orleans, Prince Charles Philippe and Princess Diana d’Orleans.

Social media is reporting “thousands” of people are planning to protest, which begs the question: where can thousands of people assemble?

Oh, and the President will probably say a few words.

Let us fervently hope that nobody hands him a telephone.
