Residents and even those who travel through Sandy Springs are being urged to sign up for Smart911 to help save time in emergencies.

The feature allows users to submit information such as name, address and medical conditions via a Web site.

That information is then linked to their cell or home phone numbers and is available when Chattahoochee River 911 Center receives a call from a registered number.

For more information, visit www.sandyspringsga.org under the Emergency Services tab.
