Eighty-three percent of Sandy Springs residents rated their quality of life as "excellent" or "good" in a recent national survey, according to city officials.
The National Research Center and the International City/County Management Association conducted the National Citizen Survey in the last part of 2010, asking residents about the quality and usefulness of city services. Sandy Springs' ambulance service ranked No. 1 out of 47 comparable cities, and residents also gave the city high marks in fire and police services, overall direction of the city and economic sustainability, among other areas.
Questionnaires were sent to a random sample of 1,800 Sandy Springs households. A total of 313 surveys were returned for analysis.
