The Sandy Springs City Council has awarded a $1.04 million contract to A1 Contracting LLC to complete the Brandon Mill Road Sidewalk Project from Lost Forest Drive to Marsh Creek.

Pending approval by the city legal and finance departments, the contract calls for site grading, sidewalks, curbs and gutters, a storm sewer system, retaining wall, driveways and landscaping, according to a staff report to the council.

A1 submitted the second-lowest of five bids for the project, but two including the lowest bid of $806,429 were disqualified. Upon administrative review, staff said, it was determined that the lowest bidder “altered the bid schedule, and cannot be compared with the rest of the bids.”
