The Sandy Springs City Council is continuing streetscape improvements on Sandy Springs Circle downtown by approving a $474,764 contract with Tople Construction to take care of the stretch from Mount Vernon Highway to Johnson Ferry Road.

Tople, which submitted the lowest of four bids for the work, will be responsible for site grading, sidewalks, curbs and gutters, pedestrian-scale lighting and landscaping, according to a staff report to the council.

The improvements will be paid for out $930,000 in funds available for three proposed streetscape projects around City Springs: this one, the Mount Vernon Highway Multipurpose Path from Mount Vernon Highway to Hilderbrand Road, and the Mount Vernon Highway gap fill from Bluestone to Sandy Springs Circle, staff said.

In July, the council approved a $2.5 million contract with Vertical Earth to make streetscape improvements to Sandy Springs Circle from Hammond Drive to Mount Vernon Highway.
