The funeral will be held Wednesday for a Roswell middle school student hit by a car and killed last week while on spring break in Florida.

James “Jamie” McHenry, 13, was crossing South Ocean Drive on Hutchinson Island, Fla., about 7:40 p.m. Wednesday when he walked into the path of a Chrysler driven by a 73-year-old Jensen Beach, Fla., man, the Palm Beach Post reported.

McHenry, a student at Haynes Bridge Middle School in Roswell, was staying at a nearby hotel. He died at Martin Memorial Hospital in Stuart, Fla.

McHenry played on the Centennial Junior Knights and Georgia Outlaws youth lacrosse teams.

His funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at St. Brigid Catholic Church in Johns Creek.
