Clarkston’s Rivers Alive clean-up effort this weekend will focus on removing trash from the South Fork of Peachtree Creek.

Residents are encouraged to participate in the event, which begins at 9 a.m. Saturday at the Avalon at Montreal apartment complex, 1086 Montreal Road.

The first 20 volunteers will receive a free T-shirt commemorating the event, part of a statewide campaign to clean and preserve 70,000 miles of streams and rivers.
