Hudson Grille Tucker failed a recent inspection because employees were careless when handling food and clean service ware.

The DeKalb County health inspector observed an employee handling raw fish then clean plates without changing gloves or washing hands. Another employee wiped soiled gloved hands on a cloth hanging from the waist. Also, an employee placed fried chicken on a plate to be served using bare hands. The meat was discarded.

Points were also taken off because numerous food items were stored uncovered in various coolers and in dry storage. The inspector found raw fish, cakes, tortilla chips and sliced peaches all exposed to contaminants.

Hudson Grille Tucker, 2075 Northlake Parkway, Tucker, scored 66/U on the routine inspection. The restaurant had previous scores 100/A and 80/B.

In other code violations, some of the food temperatures were not within safe ranges. Lobster crab dip and queso dip, both being held on the steam table, were reheated to the proper temperatures. Pimento cheese and sliced mozzarella were put on ice baths to bring temperatures down. And some half-and-half dairy was discarded.

Points were also taken off because the restaurant menus had no consumer advisory for foods served raw or under-cooked, in particular the rare seared tuna, steak, rib-eye and fried egg items.

Hudson Grille Tucker will be reinspected. [Editor's Note: Hudson Grille Tucker passed the follow-up inspection with 87/B.]
