Duluth is seeking individuals to join the Citizen’s Budget Committee to prepare the FY2016 budget. The city has completed a comprehensive ten-year budget forecast in preparation for the process and is looking for ways to be more efficient and effective in its daily operations. Previous Citizen’s Budget Committees reflected a cross section of the citizenry and provided helpful feedback and recommendations.

The first meeting, to be held Feb. 24, establishes an overview of the City’s budget process and the Budget Committee’s role in that process. The second meeting set for March 10, involves review of draft figures for the preliminary FY2016 budget and provides time for questions and clarification of items. The third meeting, March 24, is geared toward recommendations from the committee, addressing concerns with the budget and discussion of visionary opportunities for the city.
