Four Georgia-based soldiers of the Army National Guard and the U.S. Army Reserve are the latest recipients of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution’s annual Reserve Components Achievement Awards. The awards for outstanding military service were presented recently at the East Point facility of the Army Reserve’s 335th Signal Command.

The Georgia Army National Guard awardees were:

Sgt. First Class Reinier Perez, who is assigned to the Guard’s Recruiting and Retention Battalion in Winder.

Specialist Benjamin Willis, who serves with the Guard’s 1160th Transportation Company in Rome.

The U.S. Army Reserve award recipients were:

Sgt. Angel Olivo, who’s assigned to the 324th Expeditionary Signal Battalion at Ft. Gordon.

Specialist Maricela Tapia-Rios, who also serves with the 324th Expeditionary Signal Battalion at Ft. Gordon.

The AJC Reserve Components Achievement Awards have been sponsored by the newspaper for more than 30 years and are intended to recognize outstanding soldiers serving in the state.
