Atlanta, you're so vain, you probably think this story is about you.

And you're right.

Atlantans want to look good and spend a lot of time doing it, according to a recent study by Men's Health magazine. The study named Atlanta the third most vain city in the U.S., behind No. 1 Tampa and No. 2 Plano, Texas.

The magazine said it examined a variety of habits and purchases to compile the list, including a  city's rates for cosmetic procedures, Botox users and sales of hair dyes and teeth whiteners, and per-capita rates for plastic surgeons and tanning salons.

Information was compiled from the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, Experian Marketing Services, SimplyMap and the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, according to the report. Additionally, the magazine used the social media tool Foursquare to track where people check into salons most often.

Other cities rounding out the top 10 were Las Vegas, Dallas, Pittsburgh, Houston, Miami, San Francisco and Providence, R.I.

So what if you really aren't that in to appearances? You'd feel most at home in the Midwest, according to the report. Lincoln, Neb., took the No. 99 spot just ahead of Des Moines, Iowa.
