The Powder Springs Police Department is forming a chaplaincy program with the help of the volunteer chaplain from the Cobb Police Department.

This week Mike Cronin began serving as the chaplain for Powder Springs, Police Chief John Robison told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution Monday.

Robison said Cronin is serving for free.

Also, Robison said there is a need for a chaplain to help grieving individuals and families and also officers as they deal with so many difficult situations on the job.
