Powder Springs Mayor Patricia Vaughn and the City Council will meet at 5 p.m. Tuesday, instead of Wednesday, in the second-floor conference room, Powder Springs City Hall, 4484 Marietta St. for their agenda meeting.
Among the topics to be discussed are five ordinances on which they are scheduled to vote at 7 p.m. Dec. 1 in the Municipal Court building, 4483 Pineview Drive.
These ordinances concern the creation of Enterprise Zones to encourage business investment, the deannexation to Cobb County of 3245 and 3267 Sharon Drive for two single-family houses and budget transfers for employee holiday bonuses.
The other two ordinances clarify approvals and restrictions for a variety of personal services, depending upon their zoning classifications, and how much responsibility will be taken by the city for stormwater utility maintenance on property not owned by the city.
While the property owners will be responsible for maintenance of their detention ponds, the city can intervene “as is necessary in the public interest to keep the systems and facilities functional.”
In residential subdivisions, the city also can charge every owner for stormwater maintenance if the homeowner’s association is not responsive or nonexistent.
