The Ponce de Leon Library was recently preparing to close, however, the closure has been postponed to a later date while site plans are revised to address concerns from local community stakeholders about landscaping on the site, according to a press release.
While the library at 980 Ponce de Leon Avenue NE, works with the city of Atlanta and project architects to update plans, patrons will be able to continue use of the library until further notice. Once a new closing date has been scheduled, a public announcement will be made and patrons advised on alternate locations for book returns, hold pick-ups and other library services.
The Design/Build team of CT Darnell Construction, 720 designs and CPL Architects has contracted with Fulton County to provide design, engineering and construction management services for the Ponce de Leon Library project and Heery/Russell is the program management team.
Once closed, construction is expected to take approximately six months to complete.
