Police have found and arrested a suspect allegedly involved in several Ohio violent crime cases. The man was hiding in an acquaintance’s Valdosta apartment on Saturday, The Cleveland Plain Dealer reported on Monday.
Marlin Koonce, 21, is charged with attempted murder, felonious assault, aggravated robbery, robbery and possessing a gun as a felon in connection with three incidents: two in East Cleveland, Ohio and one in Cleveland Heights, according to the Plain Dealer.
The Plain Dealer reported that Valdosta police found Koonce in the acquaintance’s apartment Saturday, citing a statement from Valdosta police, who were not immediately available for comment Monday afternoon. Koonce had originally fled before police could arrest him.
Valdosta police initially went to the apartment to respond to a reported domestic dispute, the newspaper said.
Upon arriving at the apartment, police — who had previously been warned by Ohio authorities that Koonce was dangerous — became “concerned that something else was wrong,” police said in the statement to the Plain Dealer. They did not elaborate on the reasons for their suspicions.
