Peachtree Corners will join forces with Gwinnett County Police Department in hosting an all-day seminar aimed at reducing crime in multi-family housing units Thursday at Peachtree Corners City Hall, 147 Technology Parkway.

Some 50 apartment managers and landlords have signed up for the “Crime Free Multi-Housing Program.”

GCPD Officer David Martinez spearheads the national program, first developed in 1992 by the Mesa Arizona Police. The program consists of three phases including an eight-hour seminar, a crime prevention survey addressing various safety issues and a social for tenants to meet police and apartment management teams.

In addition to reducing crime, the program touts increased property values, lower maintenance and repair costs and a stable, more satisfied tenant base.
