Gwinnett’s youngest city, Peachtree Corners, has from the beginning made transportation improvements a priority. Along with intersection improvements, safety upgrades for vehicles and pedestrians, road and street resurfacing and new sidewalk and pedestrian crossings, the city has planned 10 transportation projects for 2017. The first of these, slated for this spring include intersection improvements along Holcomb Bridge Road at Jimmy Carter Boulevard, and sidewalks on Technology Parkway and Jay Bird Alley.
During the summer, the city plans sidewalks on Winters Chapel Road from the county line north to Spalding Drive, and on Spalding Drive from Crooked Creek Road to Engineering Drive. The city will also fill in gaps where sidewalks are missing on Jimmy Carter Boulevard and Holcomb Bridge Road. There will also be pedestrian crossing improvements on Winters Chapel Road and East Jones Bridge Road and at Peachtree Corners Circle near Eastman Trail.
Among the largest projects slated for this summer is the southbound widening of State Route 141 at Holcomb Bridge to Jimmy Carter Boulevard. The city will also add a right turn lane for eastbound Holcomb Bridge Road onto Peachtree Corners Circle.
Projects planned for the fall include sidewalks along Corners Parkway, Frank Neely Road, Technology Parkway South, and Peachtree Corners Circle.
