The first two of three public hearings to discuss Peachtree City’s proposed 2016 millage rate will be presented at 7:30 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. on Aug. 23 at City Hall.

The third hearing will be held during the city council’s regular meeting at 7 p.m. on Sept. 1 before the vote is taken. The city plans to maintain its current 6.756-mill Maintenance & Operation rate and lower its bond rate to 0.309 mills, for a combined 7.065 mills. However, the city does not plan to roll back the rate based on assessment increases, which will result in slightly higher property taxes. The city estimates the proposed millage rate will generate $13.9 million more revenue than in 2015.
