Funding has been approved for intersection improvements at Hwy. 54 and MacDuff Parkway in Peachtree City. The City Council voted 5-0 on Dec. 7 to award Piedmont Paving Inc.’s bid of $598,249, which was the lowest of five bids received and below the already budgeted cost of $650,000 from Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax revenue.

The work will include an additional eastbound turn lane, paving, median modifications and adjusting the existing traffic signal. City Engineer David Borkowski said the construction will be done mostly at night, and will be coordinated with other road work in the vicinity.
