Emergency funds to repair the washed-out section of Spear Road in Peachtree City were approved by the city council Thursday night.

The urgent nature of the project, which affects the thoroughfare connecting Ebenezer Road and Robinson Road, allowed the city to seek immediate bids. City Engineer David Borkowski said the $335,999 expenditure will allow the contractor to replace the damaged corrugated pipe with a reinforced concrete one, in addition to fixing the road above the culvert.

Funds will come from the Public Improvement Program and Stormwater Utility accounts.
